Frequently asked questions

A sprint-like event where participants team up and create solutions to real-life challenges in an intense period of time. Using creativity, technology and mentoring, the week results in prototypes, fresh new concepts and innovation.

K&H HACK3 is a hybrid hackathon looking for students, fresh graduates or early stage startuppers who are willing to solve the challenges given by the partners during 48 hours offline in Budapest or online.

  1. Find your teammates. Or apply solo, and ask to be added to a brand new team if you want. Lone wolves are also welcome.
  2. Register!
  3. Join us on the 24th of February and start brainstorming.
  4. Work on your solution with your team via Slack.
  5. Feel free to request mentoring on your project from experts.
  6. Submit your project by 10:00 on the 26th of February on the JunctionApp.
  7. Take home your prize!

To submit your project create a maximum 2 minutes long video pitch, upload it to YouTube and link it on the submission form, along with a GitHub repo. The video can have you talking, a live app demo (if you have one), some cool animation, etc... whatever fits best. Please observe these conditions strictly as in other cases we will unfortunately not be able to evaluate your project.

You can find information about this at the Game Rules part.

The dedicated jury members pick the 2 best teams from each challenge. These teams will get the opportunity to pitch their ideas at the Closing Ceremony. The Grand winner will be selected from the finalists by another jury board after the live pitches.

It is possible to win a Challenge Prize and the Grand Prize. The only thing that's not possible is winning more than one Challenge Prize, since all of the teams can submit their project to no more than one challenge.

Yes, you can enter the hackathon for free.

Although CraftHub cannot cover any of your traveling or accommodational expenses, we will hook you up with food during the hackathon, strong internet connection, comfortable tables and seats, and a lot of that infallible hackathon spirit!

The hackathon is only for participants who have a Hungarian TAX number. Although we accept registrations from other countries as well, please note that only those teams can take home prizes where at least one member owns a Hungarian TAX number.

The event’s language is English from start to finish, including the mentorings and the pitch sessions.
